Queen's Speech.

Every year we would watch the queen's speech on ABC TV. The equivalent, I guess, to the State of the Union Address. Now there is no speech on tv, or if there is we don't watch or know when it is or care. There's no sense of collective tv viewing any more. There used to be just two to choose from - and in my house it was always just the ABC.

Thea's Speech then. This is me. I am the Queen of Speech.

Ahem. (Thin on one side, fatter in the middle, then thinner again.. on the other side)

My (sprawling) life spreads as it will and I watch, feeling more like an aunt every day.
I'm okay.
It's okay to be this way.

I have my consolations. I have a calmer heart than I did, back then, when I was more alive, and here and spoke to people in my very own (snooty, or so I am told) voice. Oh, how I do miss you.
